Business Development

Rachel Moss has over twenty-two years of experience in the Defense, Aerospace, and Electronics sectors with a diverse foundation in engineering, quality and continuous improvement, operations, and business development. Her career started as a Process Engineer with Lockheed Martin and progressed into senior leadership roles within both large and small commercial DoD organizations, doing business both domestically and internationally. Rachel also served as President, CEO, and Majority Owner of a woman-owned small business supporting the U.S. Army rotorcraft arena with technical solutions. She has also provided consulting expertise to various organizations in the areas of business development, strategic marketing, quality control, program management, and operations, including implementation and improvement of quality management systems and serving as the strategic lead for a complex defense manufacturing product transition across multiple company sites and two countries.

At Northington Consulting, Rachel’s focus is heavily in the area of business development, and she also engages in program management and corporate efficiency improvements.

Rachel is a longtime resident of Huntsville, Alabama and graduated in 2017 from the Leadership Greater Huntsville program that identifies, educates, and inspires local community leaders. She is an advocate for servant leadership and has served on several community non-profit Boards and as Vice Chairman for the Board of Directors for a non-profit, professional interdisciplinary technical society promoting failure prevention technology for military and commercial systems. Rachel was also a founding member and Executive Board member for Auburn University’s 100+ Women Strong organization that serves to recruit, retain, and reward women in engineering and still actively supports this endeavor through speaking engagements, training, and mentoring.

Rachel spends her leisure time seeking new, exciting adventures with her husband and “furry children.” She recently climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2018. Rachel loves the outdoors, travel, running, hiking, camping and backpacking, canoeing/kayaking, and scuba diving and is a huge fan of lifelong learning.
