Responsibilities:

  • Cyber planner will be responsible for and direct the Cyber development and production throughout the Cyber community as needed. 

  • Provide Cyber support by developing and integrating cyber capabilities into military/Air Force exercises

  • Provide CYBER expertise and continuity as a key member of the Non-Kinetic Flight Scenario Development and Exercise Execution Team.

  • Provide cyber exercise support including scheduling, coordinating, and conducting planning meetings, work group meetings, and exercise facilitation.  

  • Represent the gov client as technical, cyber and exercise contact during exercise planning. 

  • Work with a specialized team of experts with numerous external service and national agencies to train established tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) relevant to air operations and air component CYBER capabilities supporting air forces command and control training and operations.

  • Provide CYBER scenario development to include Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) development and theater threat presentation (e.g. orders of battle, threat country tactics, etc.), to enhance exercise realism.

  • Assist in the collection, consolidation and integration of deployed unit training objectives into exercise scenario inputs for participants within CYBER mission areas and training events.

  • Assist with training AOC processes to support incorporation of CYBER lessons learned from service and joint experimentation, RED FLAGs, VIRTUAL FLAGs, Blue Flags and USAF Weapons School exercises.

  • Support planning (Concept development, Initial Planning, Mid Planning, Final Planning), execution and Lesson Learned/TTP development for training events.

  • Draft or edit Operational Plans (OPLANS), Operational Orders (OPORDs), Planning Orders (PLORD), and Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOs).

  • Participate in Joint Planning Groups and Operational Teams (JPG/OPT), develop and integrate Department of Defense Information Network and defensive cyberspace capabilities into plans, support action officers with planning, and remain cognizant of missions and priorities.

  • Review drafts and provide advice and assistance to the Operational Planning Teams and Joint Planning Groups.

  • Review plans to identify expressed or implied missions and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Required –

  • This is predominately a planner position focused in the area of cyber security integration into military exercises.  Therefore, 5 years or more military exercise planning experience is a must.

  • BA or BS in a Computer Science degree field.

  • Proven Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) of a Senior Analyst and Technical Expert of Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO) with five (5) years of demonstrated experience in cyber operations (offensive, defensive, cyber for others and/or cyber for exercises.)  

  • Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with existing Department of Defense security clearance and the ability to maintain that clearance

 

Desired -

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Prior experience with USAF/Joint Cyber Operations and Exercise Planning.

  • DoD Directive 8570.1M IAT-III certified,

  • CERTIFIED ETHICAL HACKER (CEH), and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.

  • Experience working with the JIOR.
